Update: The Galaxy and DC United have each tied 10 matches this season, perhaps indicating the way this one will go. The Galaxy is coming off a 2-0 victory Wednesday over the Fire in Chicago, where it played its most complete game of the year, dominating both sides of the ball. Landon Donovan’s 10th goal of the season came on a superbly executed fast break that started with goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts. The Galaxy is 6-1-1 in its last eight games and has outscored opponents 11-5 while climbing to second place in the Western Conference. “It’s put us right back in the thick of things,” Coach Bruce Arena said. David Beckham and Eddie Lewis return after serving one-game suspensions. DC United, in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, is coming off a 2-0 MLS loss at Toronto FC last weekend and a 3-1 loss on Tuesday on the road to Marathon of Honduras in the CONCACAF Champions League. The Galaxy tied United, 2-2, in March.
