Thanks for the list of jazz venues [“Jazz at a Cool Spot,” by Chris Barton, Aug. 22], but you missed a terrific one: Jazz Vespers at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Santa Monica, the second Sunday of every month. Jazz performances with a brief vespers service.

This charming little church presents a wide variety of jazz artists in a welcoming, intimate setting with amazing acoustics. It’s become my favorite monthly outing, and I’m not even religious.
