Alliance for a Better Community

ABC - Alliance for a Better Community
Alliance Better Community

Alliance for a Better Community (ABC) grew out of the “Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club,” a group of civic leaders who began meeting in the mid-1990s to address challenges facing Latina/o communities in Los Angeles. Today, ABC advances education, health and economic mobility for Latina/o, immigrant, mixed-status and at-risk communities. Using data-driven, community-centered policy solutions, ABC advocates for improved K-12 education, increased college access and equitable healthcare – ensuring that Latina/o communities have the information to make informed decisions about their reproductive rights.

ABC expands opportunities, increases civic engagement of Latina/o communities and addresses civic deserts through targeted engagement of High Opportunity voters. Our efforts restore trust in civic institutions by building transparent, accountable partnerships and amplifying the voices of those most impacted by policies and practices. By uplifting their personal stories, ABC creates pathways for families to access vital information, resources and opportunities – strengthening both communities and the systems that serve them.
