As of 2012, Turkey Creek in Lousiana had the biggest population with 440 residents, followed by Turkey, Texas (415), Turkey, N.C. (295), and Turkey Creek, Ariz., (294), according to the Census Bureau. Pennsylvania also boasts two townships with the feathered fowl in their names: Upper Turkeyfoot and Lower Turkeyfoot.
