You Don't Mess With the Zohan

By Susan King, Times Staff Writer Adam Sandler becomes “stylish” in his latest comedy “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan” as an Israeli Mossad agent who trades in his gun for a blow dryer when he fakes his own death so he can fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a hairdresser. Of course, Zohan also provides a few more “services” to the ladies besides a cut, curl and blow dry. The comedy is being described as “Shampoo” meets “Munich.” But will the farce have the legs of the classic “Shampoo” or other hair-related films and TV shows such as “Steel Magnolias” and “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street”? Here’s a look at some hair-raising movies and characters spanning the last seven decades.
