“Grease” “Your story sad to tell, a teenage ne’er to well. Most mixed up non-deliquent on the block! Your future’s so unclear now. What’s left of your career now? Can’t even get a trade in on your smile!” So begins the lavishly campy production number, “Beauty School Drop-out” from the 1978 music blockbuster in which the pink-haired Frenchy (Didi Conn), a member of Rydell High’s the Pink Ladies gang, is serenaded by an Angel (played by 1960s icon Frankie Avalon) after she fails beauty school. Conn reprised her role as Frenchy in the dreadful 1982 sequel, “Grease 2.”
