New Florida Panther Dave Bolland finds a home in Boca Raton
New Florida Panthers center Dave Bolland isn’t wasting any time settling into his new surroundings.
The two-time Stanley Cup champion, who signed a five-year, $27.5-million free-agent contract with the Panthers this off-season, has purchased a newly built home in Boca Raton, Fla., for $3.3 million.
Found inside the confines of the guard-gated Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club, the home sports sleek interiors with detailed molding and wall paneling, coffered ceilings and hardwood flooring. More than 6,100 square feet of living space includes a double foyer entry with a wrought-iron staircase, a formal living room, a dining room, a club/game room, five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.
Among the amenities is a gourmet kitchen with a butler’s pantry, custom cabinetry and a large center island. The second-floor master suite has a private sitting area, a covered balcony, dueling walk-in closets and a soaking tub.
Surrounded by tall hedges and towering palms, the grounds contain a large entertainer’s patio with barbecue station set adjacent to a pool and spa.
Bolland, 27, was drafted by Chicago in 2004 and spent his first six seasons with the Blackhawks, winning two championships. He spent last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs after being acquired via trade.
The move puts Bolland near teammates and about 30 minutes northeast of BB&T Arena. Public records show that the property came to market in February with an asking price of $3.495 million.
David Roberts of Royal Palm Properties was the listing agent. Ikem Chukumerije and Danya Wilson of sportsrelocation.com represented the buyers in the sale, which closed Friday.
Following his trade from Chicago to Toronto, Bolland sold his Lincoln Park, Ill., home in November for $1.95 million. He had asked $1.899 million for the 6,100-square-foot home, which featured an elevator and a rooftop deck.
