Maynard James Keenan sells home in Hollywood Hills
Frontman Maynard James Keenan of the metal bands Tool, a Perfect Circle and Puscifier has sold his compound in Hollywood Hills for $2.37 million.
The Mediterranean-style main house, built in 2001, features elaborate wooden ceilings, a bar, a den and a wine-tasting room. There are two fireplaces, four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms in 3,750 square feet of living space. A separate guesthouse could be used as a recording studio.
The 11,000-square-foot grounds have a swimming pool and waterfalls. There are canyon, mountain and city views.
Keenan personalized the home, creating Zen-inspired interiors to showcase accessories collected during his years on tour.
Keenan, 50, has written soundtracks for films including “End of Watch” (2012), “Resident Evil: Afterlife” (2010) and “The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3” (2009). Tool won Grammys in 1997 and 2001 for best metal performance.
He is also involved in the wine industry.
Christopher Baird and John Barrentine of the RED Real Estate Group at Keller Williams were the listing agents. Baird also represented the buyer.
