Hot Property: Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry sells Bay Area penthouse
Not even playoff basketball deterred Stephen Curry from scoring a home sale.
The Golden State Warriors guard sold his loft penthouse in Oakland during the first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers. Sale of the 2,084-square-foot unit, atop the Ellington in Jack London Square, closed for $1.499 million on May 2 -- the day before a deciding Game 7 between the Clippers and Warriors.
The corner unit penthouse has three bedrooms, three full baths, three balconies and a patio with a gas fire pit. The modern interior features a lofted floor plan with custom light fixtures and floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of the bay and surrounding city.
Building amenities at the Ellington include concierge service and access to a fitness center and pool.
Records show that Curry and his wife, Ayesha, paid $1.475 million for the penthouse in November 2012.
The son of former NBA player Dell Curry, Stephen Curry, 26, starred at Davidson College in North Carolina before being taken seventh overall in the 2009 NBA draft by Golden State. He averaged a career high 24 points per game and 8.5 assists per game this season while making his first All-Star team.
