Man and woman killed in Baldwin Park shooting
Detectives are investigating a Baldwin Park shooting that left a man and woman dead, and another person severely injured, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to the 3300 block of Athol Street, a residential area, just after 2 p.m. Thursday to assist Baldwin Park police officers after reports of a domestic violence incident, according to a media statement by the Sheriff’s Department.
They found a man and woman, who were both pronounced dead at the scene. A third victim was hospitalized with severe but not life-threatening injuries.
Deputies found a firearm at the scene. The victims were not identified.
Deputy James Nagao, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department, said he did not know the gender of the third victim or whether that person was shot.
Sheriff’s officials initially said in a media release that they had identified a female suspect, but Nagao could not confirm that. He said that he did not have information about a suspect and that the investigation is ongoing.
