Angie Leventis Lourgos is a general assignment reporter at the Chicago Tribune. Her series “Transitions: portraits of transgender Chicagoland” won the Chicago Headline Club’s Lisagor Award for best non-deadline reporting. Prior to joining the Tribune in 2009, Lourgos was a staff writer at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and The News Tribune in Tacoma. A 2003 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Lourgos grew up in Lincolnwood and now lives in Niles with her husband and their two children. .
