Robert Randolph

Robert Randolph, the man who took the pedal steel guitar out of the church and made it funky with the help of his Family Band (brother Marcus Randolph on drums, sister Lenesha Randolph on vocals and cousin Danyel Morgan, bass and vocals), performs a New Year's Eve concert at Park West. Although this is a time for reminiscing, Randolph has been working on new music to follow up his "Robert Randolph and the Family Band (Live in Concert)." Why go: The "Clash of the Titans" show also includes a performance by Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. Reconsider: You long for Randolph's days with John Medeski and the North Mississippi Allstars. 8 p.m. at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave. (all Riviera tickets will be honored); $60 (18+); 773-929-1322,
