Where was Wolverine’s quick-healing ability when Hugh Jackman needed it? The actor cut the tip of a thumb while he was onstage Wednesday and bled through much of the Broadway show.

The “X-Men: Days of Future Past” star accidentally injured his left thumb while working with a knife during a preview performance of “The River,” Page Six and People magazine reported.

The 46-year-old Aussie, who recently underwent skin cancer treatment for a third time, plays a fisherman in the Circle Square Theatre production. He was supposed to be slicing a lemon when the cut occurred about half an hour into the play.

But the show went on: A spokesman told the New York Post that Jackman grabbed a towel and continued acting -- although the towel gradually became drenched with blood. He was later examined by medics but did not need stitches. He even stuck around to sign a few autographs.

On Friday, the Tony Award-winning triple threat took to Instagram to showcase the injury.

“Still got ‘em all!!! @TheRiverPlay,” he wrote, sharing a few photos of the sliced digit.

A Jackman spokesman confirmed a report that the actor had cut himself onstage and bled for the better part of an hour while he continued to perform.
