Boy meets Samuel L. Jackson!

“The Avengers” star, who appears in Friday’s “Avengers” flick “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” recited a slam poem Monday on “The Tonight Show” about the ‘90s sitcom “Boy Meets World,” recapping the show’s seven seasons in the beatnik style of poetry.

Jackson’s three-minute oratory, performed with all the gravitas of “Pulp Fiction’s” Jules Winnfield, introduced the show’s star, a teenage boy named Cory Matthews (Ben Savage), and his friends, family and love interest.

Here’s a sampling of Jackson’s first verse:

Boy meets world
Boy greets world
Hello, world, I am Cory Matthews
Short and average, head full of curls
The year: 1993
We see two boys who lack both brains and brawn
Cory Matthews and Hunter, uh-Hunter comma ShawnOf course, Jackson is referring to Cory’s best friend Shawn Hunter, played by Rider Strong. Jackson then goes into the mischief the boys get into. He also recounts Cory’s longtime relationship with his high school sweetheart Topanga Lawrence, played by Danelle Fishel, and their subsequent marriage in the show’s college years. There’s mention of their teacher and mentor Mr. Feeney (William Daniels) and Cory’s brother Eric (Will Friedle) in addition to some serious lessons doled out by “Mr. Feenay, Fee-ee-ee-hee-nay,” as Eric would say.

Incidentally, the Disney Channel has greenlit a spin-off series called “Girl Meets World” centered on Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley, played by Rowan Blanchard, and also starring Savage as Cory and Fishel as Topanga. The show has yet to air, but several original characters -- Daniels, Friedle and Strong -- have revisited their previous personas in one episode of the series, according to IMDb.

In October 2012 on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” Oscar-winner Tom Hanks recited a similar poem about ‘90s sitcom “Full House,” which starred Bob Saget, John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
