Elin Nordegren, Lindsey Vonn are BFFs? (Tiger sighs with relief)

Elin Nordegren and Lindsey Vonn are reportedly becoming good friends — a scenario that’s no doubt making life easier for golfer Tiger Woods, who had a spectacular marriage meltdown with the former and has been dating the latter for a while now.

“You’d think it would be weird, but Elin loves Lindsey and they talk all the time,” a source told Us Weekly. “Elin likes that Lindsey is a strong woman.”

Apparently, the whole gang went on a vacation recently, with the 29-year-old skier and the 34-year-old mother of two taking off together on occasion to get drinks, according to the mag. Daddy Tiger was left to care for daughter Sam, 6, and son Charlie, 5.

“Elin found that they are very similar and have a lot in common,” the source said. “They laugh and talk like they have been girlfriends forever.”

However, the two women haven’t been spotted out together publicly, E! News pointed out. And don’t those paparazzi go everywhere? Maybe Lindsay’s acquiring Elin’s patented low public profile.

On the one hand, it’s odd that one of Tiger’s girlfriends would get close to his ex-wife, given the fact that a dozen or so “girlfriends” led to their scandal-filled 2009 split, which was finalized in 2010.

On the other hand, it makes perfect sense, as Vonn is now spending more time with Nordegren’s children, so it’d be better to have her as an ally than an enemy.

The two athletes, who went public as a couple in March 2013, reportedly met at Tiger’s World Challenge charity golf tournament in June 2012. The Olympian’s divorce from skier Thomas Vonn wasn’t final until January 2013, though the couple had separated in late 2011.

Nordegren, meanwhile, was recently linked to a West Virginia-raised coal billionaire, Chris Cline, who’s her neighbor in Palm Beach, Fla., People reported.

“They both have children, like to keep their personal lives quiet, believe in philanthropy, and enjoy leisure outdoor activity,” a source told the mag.

Elin, you do know how to land ‘em.
