Las Vegas just got a lot sexier, and it’s not because of Britney Spears.

Giorgio Moroder is marking his resurgence with a Vegas show.

In a recent interview with the Guardian the pioneering electronic producer announced he’s planning on mounting a flashy stage production in Sin City aptly dubbed “A Night With Giorgio Moroder.”

Moroder said he is collaborating with “a huge American management company” to produce the disco-themed show, which he said could be a permanent show that turns into a traveling franchise.

“I would do the DJing, but maybe before me we have another famous DJ, maybe somebody after. We of course have a ball, dancers in a cage: re-create Studio 54, and have it in Vegas, Macau, London,” he said. “Of course I wouldn’t just use my own songs – there are so many great disco songs, Chic and all those guys – and I would do probably an hour and a half. We’re thinking of starting first in Vegas [but] it will probably be a bit like Blue Man Group – they have a franchise. We might even talk to the Cirque du Soleil team.”

The influential producer behind Donna Summer’s defining hits and Oscar-winning soundtrack work for “Midnight Express,” “Flashdance” and “Top Gun” is having a major year including lending his vocals to Daft Punk’s comeback album and high-profile DJ gigs.

During a sit-down with The Times he said he was pondering a major Las Vegas DJ residency.

“I’ve been playing shows in New York, Sweden and Mexico, and there’s nobody over 30 there, and they all know all the lyrics to the songs — you know, ‘Call Me’!” he told Times writer August Brown. “Most of them weren’t even born when these songs were released.”

Moroder said the show could be ready in a few months.
