American Music Awards nominations: Iggy Azalea leads with six
The American Music Awards has just announced its list of nominees eligible for fan voting in advance of its upcoming awards ceremony.
The contenders, which were announced Monday morning, are led by Iggy Azalea, who garnered the most with six, including the show’s most coveted award, artist of the year. She’s also nominated for “New Artist of the Year,” a category that also comes with the brand name of a certain department store sponsor.
Also earning multiple nods: Katy Perry, John Legend and Pharrell Williams, each of whom landed five, and Lorde, who got four.
Below is a list of nominees for the major awards. It should be noted that Magic’s insufferable “Rude” has made this list, which offers a snapshot of the glory to come. The show will be broadcast on ABC on Nov. 23, aired live from the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles.
