Regis Philbin gets a new monthly gig with Rachael Ray

Share

When Regis Philbin left his co-host role on “Live! With Regis and Kelly” last November, he said he wasn’t retiring. And he wasn’t kidding. Nearly a year after Regis stopped being a regular presence on our TV screens, the man is back with a new gig. He’ll be appearing one day a month as a special guest on “Rachael Ray.”

In an interview with USA Today, Regis was quick to emphasize that he’s not going to be a co-host. “I’m just a guy showing up on her show once a month.”

No matter what he’s called, he’s still the Guinness world-record holder for most hours on U.S. television. He has more 17,000 hours on camera.

Since leaving “Live!” late last year, Philbin has appeared as a guest on several talk shows, including “The View” and appeared in a guest spot on the TV Land sitcom “Hot in Cleveland.”

Regis’ first appearance on “Rachael Ray” will be Monday.
