Kristen Wiig, Seth Rogen to guest star in ‘Arrested Development’

If you’re one of the three people on Earth not excited about the return of “Arrested Development,” premiering on Netflix in May, perhaps this will whet your appetite: “Saturday Night Live” alum Kristen Wiig and stoner extraordinaire Seth Rogen will both join the series as guest stars.

The question that naturally follows is who they’ll be playing. While a Netflix representative confirmed that both Wiig and Rogen will make appearances in the upcoming season, the company declined to elaborate about their roles.

(Minor spoilers ahead, so if you’d prefer not to know anything more, stop reading now!)

However, according to a report published Tuesday by Vulture, Wiig is set to appear as a younger version of Lucille, the hard-drinking, domineering Bluth family matriarch played by Jessica Walter. (Not to be confused with Oscar Bluth’s one-time paramour Lucille Austero, otherwise known as “Lucille Two” and played by Liza Minnelli.)

If the report is true, it certainly opens up a lot of enticing possibilities. Maybe after a few drinks, young Lucille will have a run-in with a Colonial woman on the wing of the Bluth family jet? Who knows, but May can’t come quickly enough.

As for Rogen, got any ideas?
