Battle of the Burgers: Get out the vote!

Share

The submissions are in for our third annual Battle of the Burgers. Now we need you to vote for your favorite burgers.

Curious about this year’s entries? We’ve had submissions of all kinds from all over the United States. Check out this note that came with a recipe from Sandy Henry of Santa Fe, N.M.:

“My wife, Michele, and I drive to the Hatch Chile Festival in Southwestern New Mexico every year from our home in Santa Fe. Friends from Silver City and Las Cruces meet us every year to buy freshly roasted chiles. We fill each and every inch of our vintage Land Rover to make the 245-mile trek back -- windows rolled down! We freeze small batches of the chiles and return to Hatch each year to restock. We’ve always found that the best green chile burgers are in the taverns and saloons of Northern New Mexico. I’ve created my own version of those flavorful burgers which we serve at the restaurants I am a partner of in Los Angeles. The recipe packs a lot of spice and flavor and will blow you away. Enjoy!”

Go to our L.A. Times Food Facebook page to look over the submissions and cast your votes.

We’ll take top vote-getters and try out the burgers in the Times Test Kitchen. The top five Burgermeisters will get an invite to the Los Angeles Times to have their picture taken with their top burger. We’ll feature the photos and recipes in our Daily Dish blog as well as the June 29 issue of the L.A. Times Food section, which will be dedicated to the Fourth of July.
