Cinco de Mayo: Where to get $5 margaritas, free tacos, tequila snow cones

If you’re looking for an excuse to drink tequila, you’re in luck: Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo. Here’s a list of restaurants and bars with $5 margaritas, taco specials and even a place with a tequila snow cone machine. Cheers!

Border Grill: The downtown and Santa Monica locations will both be celebrating with $5 sangria. The downtown L.A. location will also have $5 margaritas and a pig roast on the patio with taco specials and an oyster and ceviche bar. The Santa Monica location will have specialty cocktails and craft beer as well as $4 tacos with pork belly, crispy squash blossom, seared calamari or lamb barbacoa. www.bordergrill.com.

Cascabel: The Toluca Lake restaurant will have $8 signature margaritas, $4 shots of Arette blanco tequila, $10 Tecate/Arette blanco shot combos and $5 micheladas. Ceremony Bar: The new Studio City restaurant will have $10 bottomless sangria and mimosas from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. From 3 to 6 p.m., receive 25% off your entire bill, and a live mariachi band will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. 11814 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, (818) 985-9222, www.ceremonybar.com.

Chipotle: The make-your-own burrito chain will serve margaritas for $6.95, made with Patron silver tequila, triple sec, lime juice, lemon juice and organic agave nectar. Multiple locations at www.chipotle.com/home.

Dia de Campo: The restaurant will open early at 3 p.m. and will have live music until 9 p.m. Specials include $1 build-your-own tacos, $1 street corn with chipotle mayo and Parmesan, and $1 oysters. Fuego: The restaurant at Hotel Maya will have a waterfront taco cart, complimentary samples of Muerto tequila, drink specials, chocolate-dipped churros and live music. Gracias Madre: There will be $5 guacamole and chips, empanadas, flautas and tamales all day. A snow cone machine will be available on the patio from 5 to 11 p.m. with a tequila mule snow cone made with tequila blanco, house-made ginger beer and lime ($10). Harvard & Stone: Monday to Sunday, the back bar will be transformed into Bar Ilegal. Guests will be able to order late-night food by Guelaguetza and sip Ilegal mezcal, Mexicali beer and more, all priced at $5 to $10. Public School 310, 818 and 805: All three locations will be celebrating with chicken adobo nachos ($8), a Dos Veces cocktial made with Correlajo Blanco tequila, watermelon juice, house-made vanilla bitters, lavendar bitters and a paprika-and-pepper rim ($8), and the Bruery’s Or Xata, a spiced blond ale ($11). Solita Tacos & Margaritas: The Valencia restaurant will have a street-side taco stand with two tacos for $5, an icy bucket of five bottled beers for $5 and five churros for $5. There will also be $10 watermelon margaritas and more. Taco Bell: The fast-food chain is giving away one free sausage or bacon biscuit taco per customer from 7 to 11 a.m. at participating locations nationwide.
