A spectacular killer wedding cake with bloody, severed heads

Share

Wedding cakes are often decorated with flowers made of frosting, pink and white stripes of fondant and two perfect figurines of a bride and groom holding hands on the top tier. Unless you’re Texas baker Natalie Sideserf of Sideserf Cake Studio.

Sideserf created a killer wedding cake for her recent wedding. No, really, there are two fake severed heads (her head and one depicting her fiancé Dave’s) and a ton of “blood.”

Her fiance loves scary movies and the wedding being near Halloween made the decision a natural one.

“We were watching a horror movie, and I was always interested in sculpting lifelike cakes, especially in the face, so I thought, ‘How neat would it be if I did our severed heads?’” Sideserf told ABC News. “And Dave was like, ‘That would be amazing.’”

The heads, which took Sideserf around 40 hours to make, are unbelievably lifelike. They were served on a white board with the words “Till death do us part,” written underneath. A red substance made to look like blood is spattered all over the white board and the faces look like they are in agony.

So what flavor do you make for a cake that looks like two severed heads? Rainbow confetti vanilla cake, of course. Guess she had to lighten up the mood somehow. The cake was finished with vanilla buttercream frosting and chocolate.

Who knew bloody, severed heads could be so romantic?
