A play about Walt Disney and composer Igor Stravinskiy about the making of the animated film "Fantasia" sounds intriguing.
Newtown's Stray Kats Theatre Company will present Frederick Stroppel's "Small World: A Fantasia" with actors Scott Bryce as Disney and Robert Resnikoff as Stravinsky. The show runs Jan. 11 to 27.
Stroppel is also the author of the play, "Fortune's Fool."
Artistic director Kate Katcher stages the two-character work which will be presented at Edmond Town Hall’s Alexandria Room, 45 Main St., Newtown.
The not for profit professional theater company previously presented staged readings of contemporary classics and new works geared toward an adult audience.
Other offerings this season will be a reading of Edward Albee's "A Delicate Balance" and a work by seven award-winning female playwrights (Paula Cizmar, Catherine Filloux, Gail Kriegel, Carol K. Mack, Ruth Margraff, Anna Deavere Smith and Susan Yankowitz) based on interviews with seven activists for women's rights throughout the world.
The next full production will be Richard Dresser's "Rounding Third" in March.
Tickets are $30 iin advance;l $35 at the door.
