Malice At The Palace

Malice At The PalaceA Ron Artest foul against the Detroit Pistons' Ben Wallace at the Palace Of Auburn Hills would end in one of the most memorable in-game altercations in recent history. Wallace shoved Artest, then a member of the Indiana Pacers, and both benches cleared. Artest laid on the scorers table, then charged into the crowd after a spectator threw a beer cup at him. Artest and teammates Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson physically confronted spectators, and the referees called off the remaining 46 seconds of the game. The NBA suspended nine players: Artest was suspended for 86 games, the longest for a player involved in an in-game fight.
