Bell improves to 5-3 overall, 4-1 in league.

Garfield d. Huntington Park, 25-18, 25-13, 25-12
Julie Bracamontes had 11 kills and three aces and Christal Lara finished with 17 service points and seven aces to lead host Garfield (7-1, 5-0) past Huntington Park. Garfield also got contributions from Sylvia Loza with seven kills and Laura Sandoval with six kills and four aces.

MARINE LEAGUE

Carson d. Narbonne, 21-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-21
Junior midle blocker Mary Laupepa had 26 kills and seven digs as Carson (8-0, 5-0) won a battle for first place at Narbonne (7-1, 4-1). Laupepa added three blocks and two aces for the Colts. Junior outside-hitter Melissa Moimoi also had 11 kills, five aces and eight digs while senior setter Terrona Sale had 40 assists.

NORTHERN LEAGUE

Belmont d. Franklin, 25-11, 25-19, 25-21
Angela Canas finished with 11 kills, four aces and eight digs and Katrine Esplana had eight kills, three blocks and five aces to lead host Belmont (6-3, 6-2).

SUNSET SIX LEAGUE

Verdugo Hills d. Poly, 25-16, 25-7, 25-9
Heather Kelley finished with 14 kills and eight digs, Crystal Perryman had eight kills and Jennifer Espindola had 26 assists, eight digs and six aces to lead Verdugo Hills (9-3, 5-0) over visiting Sun Valley Poly (4-4, 3-2). Sara Bonet had 10 aces, including eight in second game, when she served for 11 consecutive points for the Dons.

WEST VALLEY LEAGUE

Chatsworth d. Birmingham, 25-10, 25-14, 25-10
Chelsea Duran had 10 kills and Bea Ramos added seven kills for Chatsworth (7-1, 5-0) in its home victory over Birmingham (5-3, 2-3). Lauren Cornell chipped in six blocks and Jackie Tomas had 28 assists for the Chancellors.

El Camino Real d. Cleveland, 25-17, 25-14, 25-19
Amy Rauth served eight aces to lead El Camino Real (3-5, 2-3) at Cleveland.

Coliseum League

Manual Arts d. Fremont, 25-13, 25-13, 25-21

FREEWAY LEAGUE

Valley Alternative d. Sherman Oaks CES, 25-7, 25-15, 25-8
Luisa Umana had eight kills and eight service aces and Olayinka Rahman had eight kills for Valley Alternative (7-0, 4-0).

MOUNTAIN VIEW LEAGUE

Corona Santiago d. Moreno Valley Valley View, 25-22, 30-28, 25-22
Karleigh Delong had 18 kills to lead host Santiago (12-2, 4-0), ranked No. 8 in Div. I-AA. Hannah Tautolo had 16 kills to lead Valley View (9-3, 3-1).

NORTHERN LEAGUE

Belmont d. Los Angeles, 25-13, 25-11, 25-7
Brenda Gomez and Audrey Huebner each had 12 aces and Katrine Esplana had five kills to lead host Belmont (5-3, 5-2).

Monday, Oct. 11

COLISEUM LEAGUE

Manual Arts d. Crenshaw 25-8, 25-17, 25-6
Ana Garcia had 13 aces and six kills and Ivonne Linares added 17 assists and six aces to lead host Manual Arts (7-0, 4-0).

CROSSTOWN LEAGUE

Elizabeth d. L.A. CES, 25-11, 25-17, 25-22

FREEWAY LEAGUE

Bravo d. Sherman Oaks CES, 25-11, 25-12, 25-17
Visiting Bravo is 4-2, 3-1.

MARINE LEAGUE

Carson d. Wilmington Banning, 25-10, 25-8, 25-9
Jasmyne Palaita had seven aces, five assists and one kill, Mahina Hirahara added five aces and one kill and Melissa Moimoi chipped in five aces, nine digs, three assists and two kills for host Carson (7-0, 4-0). Banning is 2-2 overall and in league.

NORTHERN LEAGUE

Belmont d. L.A. Wilson, 25-23, 19-25, 25-18, 25-21
Angela Canas had nine digs and four kills and Katrine Esplana had six kills to lead visiting Belmont (4-3, 4-2) over L.A. Wilson (4-3, 4-2).

Los Angeles d. Lincoln, 25-7, 13-25, 25-5, 23-25, 15-3
Los Angeles improves to 2-4, 2-3.

SUNSET SIX LEAGUE

Verdugo Hills d. Hollywood, 25-4, 25-9, 25-15
Crystal Perryman had 14 kills and eight digs, Jennifer Espindola had 18 assists and Sara Bonet had six kills and 10 service aces for visiting Verdugo Hills (8-3, 4-0). With the six kills, Bonet now has 245 career kills, good enough to break her sister's school record set in 2000.

Hollywood drops to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in league.

Canoga Park d. North Hollywood, 25-17, 25-15, 25-18

VALLEY MISSION LEAGUE

Sylmar d. San Fernando, 25-11, 25-16, 25-22
Alicia Gonzales and Karen Vallecio each had seven aces for host Sylmar (4-3, 4-0). San Fernando is 2-2 in league.

WEST VALLEY LEAGUE

El Camino d. Taft, 25-22, 26-24, 28-26
El Camino is 2-5, 1-3.
