An adult and two children were in grave condition Monday after being pulled from a motel pool in Hollywood, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.

Paramedics rushed the three victims to the hospital after they responded to a drowning call at the Hollywood Premiere Motel in the 5300 block of Hollywood Boulevard.

Brian Humphrey, a department spokesman, said the three were in grave condition but could provide no further details.

He said a man and woman with four children were in the motel swimming pool with no lifeguards present when two of the children strayed into the deep end and became distressed.

The woman tried to rescue the two children and “all three submerged” and were pulled “pulseless” and not breathing from the pool by passersby, Humphrey said.

The three were taken to a hospital in grave condition, and CPR was administered. The LAFD and the Los Angeles mayor’s crisis support team went to the scene to help with the man and two other children.

Firefighters responded to the motel about 3:30 p.m.

LAPD Officer Joel Morales said the department responded to a crowd control call at 3:50 p.m. after family members at the scene became “hysterical.”
