Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 76-year-old woman they suspect of shooting her husband at their Malibu home Wednesday evening.

Sheriff deputies from the Lost Hills station were called about 10:27 p.m. Wednesday to a home in the 500 block of Westlake Boulevard, officials said.

Once there, deputies found the body of 75-year-old Arnold Farran. The victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators found the suspected weapon at the home, authorities said.

During the course of their investigation, deputies discovered that the dead man’s wife, Patricia Farran, had called her son and told him that she shot his father, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Detective Lt. Derrick Alfred.

Alfred said the woman has been cooperating with police since her arrest. She’s being held on $2 million bail.

Detectives are continuing their investigation to find a motive for the shooting.
