Former Catasauqua High School and Alvernia College star Anthony Recker played his first game in the Atlanta Braves organization Wednesday night after being traded by the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday.
Recker went 0-for-3 in his debut with the Gwinnett Braves in their 7-1 International League loss to the Rochester Red Wings.
The Associated Press reported that Recker was traded for cash.
Recker, who had signed a minor league deal with Cleveland in the offseason, was hitting .246 with the Triple-A Columbus Clippers before the trade.
Recker played in 32 games for the New York Mets last season, hitting .125 with two home runs and five RBIs.
