Lady Gaga plans to be first recording artist to sing in space
Lady Gaga says she has a ticket on a Virgin Galactic ship bound for space in 2015 and will be the first recording artist to sing in outer space.
Us Weekly first reported her aerospace venture, and Vanity Fair confirmed that she’s not paying for her ticket.
Gaga says her singing gig is part of a an event called Zero G Colony, whose rather mysterious website bills itself as a “galactic music experience.” News outlets say it’s a music and techie festival to be held at Spaceport America in New Mexico.
Will Gaga really be the first artist to perform in space? Admittedly, she’s more famous than Max Q, the all-astronaut band. Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield has played in that band -- and he also recorded “Space Oddity” while aboard the International Space Station.
