‘This is the world I want for her:’ Father thanks stranger for showing his daughter kindness in viral post
A Marine Corps veteran took to social media to thank a stranger for the unexpected kindness he showed his daughter — a kindness he hopes will travel with her through life.
“Last night, while waiting to board our plane, @_carterjean_ was being her usual inquisitive self wanting to meet and say ‘hi’ to everyone she could, until she walked up on this man,” Kevin Armentrout posted to Facebook on Saturday.
“He reached out and asked if she wanted to sit with him. He pulled out his tablet and showed her how to draw with it, they watched cartoons together, and she offered him snacks.”
He commended the man, who he only described as Joseph from Samsung in Oklahoma, for taking the time to play with his daughter.
More so, he hoped the interaction would spark unity in a country that’s rarely been as divided along party lines.
“I want her life to be filled with moments like this... not liberal or conservative republican or democrat, socialist or capitalist, just HUMAN,” Armentrout wrote.
He also noted that despite being of different genders, races and generations, the two were “the best of friends.”
“This is the world I want for her.”
Armentrout, who lives in Las Vegas as a full-time writer, did not specify what airport the encounter took place in.
