Rock band Eagles of Death Metal joins U2 in Paris for special performance

Three weeks after the deadly attacks that killed 130 people in Paris, Eagles of Death Metal, the band that was playing at the Bataclan concert when it was attacked, returned to the French capital in a special performance when they joined U2 on stage.

It was the first time the California rock band has stepped onto a stage since Nov. 13 when their concert at the Bataclan concert hall was stopped as jihadists entered and killed 90 people at the venue.

The bands performed at the AccorHotels Arena and then joined together in a rendition of Patti Smith’s “People Have the Power”, which Smith performed with U2 front man Bono on the same stage.

The Eagles band is expected to resume its European tour next February, which was suspended after the Paris terror attacks.
