This weekend brings a sensory overload of colorful art at the Young at Art Museum in Davie, hosting its adults-only fundraiser "SuperSaturated" on Friday, April 27.
A cocktail-fueled evening showcasing 10 artists, the event will feature live music, installations and performance art by Haiiileen, the art collective Nice'n Easy and Ahol Sniffs Glue, the moniker of Miami mural veteran David Anasagasti. Haiileen, aka Miami performance artist Aileen Quintana, will unveil "Ora," a blue-and-purple crystalline sculpture built with hand-painted acrylic petals.
Anasagasti will present a new mural at the museum, while Amanda Covach will display her installation "Conversations With Hannah," a collection of glowing plastic spheres. ÉCRASER, the artist collective of musician Monica McGivern and poet Sarah Maria Dos Santos, will perform an experimental work of "industrial sound poetry," which will incorporate old typewriters, analog distortion, loop pedals and found objects. McGivern is also one-third of the psychedelic surf band Mo'Booty, who will also perform at "SuperSaturated."
Tickets for the fundraiser, which cost $100, will benefit low-income and at-risk youth at Young at Art Museum's ArtHouse, ArtREACH, Stem 2 Steam and Girls 'N Power at Pace Center Broward.
