A day of pancakes and a new van, too

Share

The Burbank YMCA Service Club hosted its annual pancake breakfast on Saturday and served up to 600 people during the four-hour event at the Burbank Community YMCA.

Volunteers estimated that they “flipped” more than 2,000 pancakes and browned 1,200 sausages. The club partnered with many local businesses to put on the fundraiser.

The event also provided an opportunity for the service club to turn over the keys to a new van that will be used for YMCA youth programs.

The van’s exterior design was created by Warner Bros. The keys were turned over to YMCA Chief Executive Officer JC Holt.

“This new van is such a wonderful contribution to our youth development programs, and Warner Bros. just knocked it out of the park with the van’s design,” Holt said.

All pancake breakfast proceeds will go to youth development programs at the Burbank YMCA. The event was co-chaired by YMCA Service Club members Kam and Melanie Kalantari and Frank Sakata.
