Community: Help to float Rose Parade entry

Share

The Burbank Tournament of Roses Assn. will have its annual Craft Faire and Open House from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 5 at the float barn, located at 123 W. Olive Ave., to raise funds to build its 2014 float entry.

Vendors will be selling candles, soaps, jewelry and other gift items. Handy Market will be barbecuing on site and Enola’s Krispy Kettle Korn will offer desserts. Parking is available in the MetroLink lot.

The 2014 float marks the city’s 100th entry in the Tournament of Roses Parade, said Robert Hutt, publicity chairman. Burbank float volunteers will be depicting the parade’s theme, “Dreams Come True,” with its design, titled “Lights, Camera, Action.”

It will feature a movie set circa 1914 with a damsel tied to railroad tracks, a villain in the train engine and a hero on a white horse racing to the rescue.
