A tree-lighting ceremony will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Burbank City Hall, 275 E. Olive Ave., Burbank.

Church to hold annual holiday concert

Burbank Chorale’s annual holiday concert will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the American Lutheran Church, 755 N. Whitnall Highway, Burbank.

The concert, titled “Glorious Celebration,” will feature Vivaldi’s “Gloris” as well as other holiday songs.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 until Dec. 6. After that, general admission tickets will cost $20. Both seniors and children under 12 years old will be admitted for $15.

Organization to host talk about Burbank

The Burbank Historical Society will host a free discussion called “The Best of Burbankia” from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Gordon R. Howard Museum, 115 N. Lomita St., Burbank.

Authors Wes Clark and Mike McDaniel will talk about “Burbankia,” a website dedicated to Burbank’s history, lore, images and personal stories.

Santa’s Fix-it Clinic to help participants fix items

An event called ”Santa’s Fixit Clinic” will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Burbank Recycle Center, 500 S. Flower St., Burbank.

City to open outdoor ice skating rink

An ice-skating rink will be open from Dec. 12 to Jan. 5, 2020, in downtown Burbank, 150 N. Third St., Burbank.

Along with ice skating, this event will feature curling and skating lessons on certain days.

Nativity event to be held at area church

A drive-through nativity event will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Community Christian Church of the Foothills, 10193 Tujunga Canyon Blvd., Tujunga.

While driving through the site, attendees will see various scenes from the nativity story.

Theater to present Christmas performance

“The Merry Little Christmas Show” will be presented at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, at the Colony Theatre, 555 N. Third St., between Cyprus Avenue and Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank.

The performance will also feature special guest Kurtis Simmons.

Nature Center to host “Noon Year’s Eve” party

A “Noon Year’s Eve” party will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the Stough Canyon Nature Center, 2300 E. Walnut Ave., Burbank.

This kids-only event will include arts and crafts and a countdown celebration to noon. Registration for the event is required, and the cost is $15 per child.
