Credit union continues to support aid center

Lockheed Federal Credit Union announced its continued support for the Burbank Temporary Aid Center as it has donated more than 6,000 pounds of canned goods and other items to provide 750 lunches for the homeless this month.

Employees donated items during the company’s training day on Oct. 10 at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles.

“We are so grateful for Lockheed Federal Credit Union’s generous food donations,” said executive director of the aid center, Barbara Howell. “Our funding resources were depleted for lunches and our shelves were in need of being stocked, as the holiday season will soon be here.”

More than $65,000 has been donated to the Burbank Temporary Aid Center from the credit union and its employees through the credit union’s nonprofit foundation, LFCU Community Stars.

From Nov. 1 through 30, the Lockheed Federal Credit Union will accept donated canned food items and toys from the community at its Burbank branch, 2340 Hollywood Way.
