The following incidents were taken from police reports:
MEDIA DISTRICT NORTH
2400 block of North Buena Vista Street: A 22-year-old Redondo Beach
man was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances at
12:45 a.m. Friday. The man allegedly had two foil containers -- one with
a tar-like substance believed to contain heroin and the other containing
12 prescription narcotic pills -- in his glove compartment. The man did
not have a prescription for the pills, police said. The officers also
reported finding a pipe commonly used for smoking drugs in the glove box.
1600 block of North San Fernando Boulevard: A 21-year-old Burbank
woman reported an acquaintance hit her in the face with a telephone
receiver at 10:45 p.m. Friday. The Burbank woman said the 23-year-old
Newhall woman hit her in a dispute over money. The Newhall woman admitted
she hit the Burbank woman but said it was because she was being choked,
police said. No arrests were made. The case will be presented to the city
attorney’s office for possible filing.
2700 block of Empire Avenue: Two Burbank boys, ages 16 and 17, were
arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property at 6:13 p.m.
Friday. The boys were allegedly driving a Toyota Camry that was stolen
Nov. 26. One of the boys ran from police when the car stopped. He was
spotted by a police helicopter and arrested. Both boys were booked at
Sylmar juvenile hall.
NORTHWEST DISTRICT
2311 N. Hollywood Way: Two teenagers were arrested on suspicion of
theft at 6:26 p.m. Friday at Fry’s Electronics, police said. An
18-year-old Temple City man was arrested on suspicion of grand theft for
allegedly stealing a pocket computer worth $500. An 18-year-old San
Gabriel man arrested on suspicion of petty theft for allegedly stealing a
$399 pocket computer. The men were together, police said.
MEDIA CITY CENTER
200 block of East Cypress Avenue: Two 14-year-old North Hollywood
girls were arrested on suspicion of petty theft at 8:45 p.m. Friday at
Macy’s. One of the girls allegedly took more than $300 worth of jewelry
from the department store. The other girl allegedly stole about $30 worth
of jewelry. The girls were cited and released to their parents.
SOUTH SAN FERNANDO DISTRICT
500 block of East Verdugo Avenue: A 16-year-old Burbank boy was
arrested on suspicion of vandalism at 1:45 p.m. Saturday. The boy
allegedly spray-painted graffiti on the side of an apartment building. He
was cited and released to his parents.
200 block of West Verdugo Avenue: A 17-year-old Burbank boy was
arrested on suspicion of possession of a dangerous weapon at 4 p.m.
Saturday. Gang unit officers, who recognized the boy as part of a
graffiti tagging crew, reported that the boy was in possession of brass
knuckles. He was cited and released to his mother.
