Robert Blechl
CARL ALDON COOPER
Carl Aldon Cooper, 89, died Dec. 15, 1999, in Burbank.
Mr. Cooper was born in Sentinnel, Okla. He lived in Burbank for 54
years. A retired aviation mechanic, he served in the Navy during World
War II.
Mr. Cooper was involved in the Knights of Columbus, Boys Town and was
an active parishioner at St. Finbar Catholic Church.
He is survived by his sons, Tony and Greg; daughters, Mary N.
Burgeson, Mary Margaret Fekete and Marty Greenberg; 10 grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren.
A rosary service was held Monday and funeral services Tuesday at St.
Finbar Catholic Church. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver
City.
JOHN CARTER
John Carter, 52, died Dec. 17, 1999, in Burbank.
Mr. Carter was born in La Crosse, Wis. He lived in Burbank for 11
years. He was a radio announcer for Westwood One Broadcasting. Mr. Carter
was also a KCBS-FM weekend sports anchor, a KRLA news announcer, and a
traffic anchor for KFWB and KRLA radio stations and for K Highway. He was
a member of Masonic Lodge No. 406.
He is survived by his son, Jason Foshee; mother, Helen Foshee; and
brother, Bobby Foshee.
Interment will be private. Eckerman-Heisman Funeral Service is
handling arrangements.
EVELYN C. SHARPE
Evelyn C. Sharpe, 85, died Dec. 14, 1999, in Ridgecrest.
Mrs. Sharpe was born in Linden, Fla. She managed Martino’s Bakery in
Burbank before retiring in 1986. She was a Burbank resident for more than
30 years. She was a member of the League of Women Voters, the Emblem
Club, All Faith Gospels PWOC Circles, the American Baptist Woman’s
Association of the First Baptist Church and past member and docent of
Maturango Museum.
She is survived by her lifemate, Clay Tindall; daughter, Marlene S.
Altieri; grandchildren, Robert Michael Page and Richard Scott Page; and
great-grandson, Ryan Fleming Page.
A memorial service was held Friday at First Baptist Church in
Ridgecrest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the
American Heart Association, Kern County Chapter, 404 Truxton Ave.,
Bakersfield, CA, or to the American Cancer Society, Ridgecrest Chapter.
JOHN L. MAKER
John L. Maker, 84, died Dec. 18, 1999, at his Burbank home.
Mr. Maker was born in Crabtree, Pa., and lived in Burbank for 57
years. He owned the Mobile gas station on the corner of Glenoaks and
Magnolia boulevards until 1959.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosemary; four children,
Joseph, Colleen Harrod, Patricia Soderblom and Margie Walters; 11
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A visitation was held Tuesday at Valley Funeral Home in Burbank.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. today at St. Francis Xavier Catholic
Church in Burbank. Burial will be at San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Providence St.
Joseph Home Hospice, 3413 Pacifica Ave., Burbank, CA 91505.
ROBERT A. TITUS
Robert A. Titus, 63, died Dec. 17, 1999, at his Burbank home. Mr.
Titus was born in Michigan and lived in Burbank for 30 years. He was
retired from Sears, where he worked as a repair and service technician
for 30 years.
Mr. Titus is survived by his daughter, Tracy Johnson; brothers, Gerald
and Larry; and sister, Mary Czubak.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn
Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills. Interment will be private.
