Paving work set for Walnut Avenue
Paul Clinton
HILLSIDE DISTRICT -- The City Council has approved a contract to
repair Walnut Avenue, north of DeBell Drive.
The street, which runs along the western border of DeBell Golf Course,
is rife with cracks and potholes. Traffic on Walnut has worn the street
down to only two inches of concrete, officials said.
“It’s in terrible disrepair right now,” Burbank Civil Engineer Ahmad
Ansari said. “There will be some concrete repairs here and there.” Los
Angeles-based Tyner Paving Co. will complete $52,971 in repaving work.
The work is expected to begin in late January and is expected to take
a month to complete.
