HILLSIDE DISTRICT

* 400 block of East Elmwood Avenue: Three Burbank men, 21 to 31,

went outside their home Sunday to find four men wielding pool cues,

police said. The four men challenged them and began punching them.

They also threw beer bottles at them and drove away, police said. No

one was seriously hurt.

NORTHWEST DISTRICT

* 900 block of North Lamer Street: A man shot a possum outside

his Burbank home Sunday, severely wounding it, police said. The

incident occurred when the man’s daughter was scared by the animal

when she was taking out trash, police said. The man took a BB gun and

shot it four times. The possum was so badly wounded it had to be

euthanized, animal control officers said. Police referred the case to

the city attorney’s office.
