Pickwick plays host to bowling event

More than 4,000 athletes are expected to compete in the $115,000

California Women’s Assn.’s 76th annual State Championships at

Pickwick Bowl.

The event begins today and concludes July 27.

About 1,022 four-person teams from throughout the state will

compete in singles, doubles and team events every Saturday and Sunday

except Fourth of July wekend.

Bell-Jeff fund-raising golf tournament

Bellarmine-Jefferson High will hold its annual fund-raising golf

tournament at 11:30 a.m. May 9 at De Bell Municipal Golf Course.

Signups are limited to 144 golfers and there will be a shotgun

start.

The tournament is sponsored by the school’s alumni association and

the Guards’ football program.
