Hillside voting is a hardship

Share

I have been a Burbank resident for my entire life -- more than 50

years. I have always prided myself in voting in all local elections.

I take pride in my city and want to participate in all ways possible,

particularly elections.

I was distressed because voting on our local offices was not

possible for me.

While I think the Stough Park Nature Center is a very nice place

to visit, it is not appropriate for a polling location. One must have

a vehicle to drive into the hills, and drive and drive. It is not a

location that folks can walk to at all.

Yes, I have a car. Given my work schedule and the location, it is

more time-sensitive to get there in time to cast my vote. Extra time

is not something I have a lot of. So, I guess you no longer want my

vote. (The primary election sample ballot had listed my polling place

as “to be notified later” or something like that. Was I told later

where that new location was? No.) What is going on? Why can’t a more

appropriate location be found for hillside residents to cast their

vote?
