Actor Alan Thicke was hit in the face with a hockey puck at Pickwick
Ice Skating Arena and lost five teeth.
Thicke needed 30 stitches at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center
after being injured Tuesday. He was released that day, and is
recuperating at his home, his publicist Jerry Digney said.
The former star of “Growing Pains” was practicing Tuesday for a
May 17 celebrity tournament to benefit New York police and fire
departments, which he still hopes to attend, Digney said.
The 55-year-old Canadian has played hockey since age 5. While he
was wearing a helmet, he was not wearing full protective gear, which
the actor acknowledges was a mistake, Digney said.
