Chamber mixer is Thursday
MEDIA CITY CENTER -- A cash drawing of $175 will be up for grabs
at the Burbank Chamber of Commerce’s monthly mixer from 5:30 to 7:30
p.m. Thursday at Chevy’s Mexican Restaurant, 701 N. San Fernando
Blvd. The event features a happy-hour buffet, margaritas, draft beer
and wine.
Tickets are $10 for members, $15 for prospective members. For

Burbank Macy’s honors ‘Star Dad’
MEDIA CITY CENTER -- Burbank Macy’s will recognize its store
manager, Del Hernandez, for his outstanding achievements at home, the
workplace and in the community.
Hernandez will be awarded the title “Star Dad” by Macy’s for what
it considers exemplary parenting skills. He earned the award by
working for the company for 20 years, being a father of four who
coaches their baseball and softball teams, and mentoring local
college students for careers in retail.
Employees that Hernandez manages nominated him, and he will be
honored by the company on Father’s Day with a print advertisment
thanking him and three other “Star Dads.”
Company honors local employee
BURBANK -- Visional International, a Salt Lake city-based company
specializing in large format digital printing, has honored Burbank
resident Melisse DesRochers for her superior performance.
DesRochers, an account manager who works out of her home, joined
the company’s “5 Million Club” after accumulating $5 million in
sales. She has been employed as an account manager for five years.
The Smoke House to treat military
TOLUCA LAKE -- The Smoke House will treat U.S. military personnel
to a free “thank you” brunch Sunday.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. and last until 2 p.m. The
steakhouse is located at 4420 Lakeside Drive. Diners must either come
in uniform or with their military I.D.
