Carrows closes Burbank spot

MEDIA DISTRICT NORTH -- After serving family-style cuisine to

locals for 12 years, Carrows Restaurant has closed its doors.

Restaurant officials said they decided to close the restaurant at

3301 N. Glenoaks Blvd. on May 27 after their lease expired and the

rent was raised.

Burbank resident Vicki Claussen dined at the restaurant about four

times a week and considered most of the staff “a second family.”

“It think the community is losing a wonderful family restaurant,”

Claussen said of the eatery across the street from Woodbury

University. “It was a place for friends and family to meet.”

The chain, which is owned by Irvine-based Catalina Restaurant

Group, numbers about 130 restaurants in California and several other

Western states.
