AGREEMENTS FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM

WHAT HAPPENED

The board unanimously approved agreements between the district and

the city for Community Development Block Grant funds in the amount of

$225,000.

WHAT IT MEANS

The grants will help pay for the removal of a house and

installation of new grass play field and paving at Disney Elementary

School. The money will also help pay for the installation of

handicapped-accessible playground equipment, a handicapped-accessible

release gate and fence vision slats at Washington Elementary School.

ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION TO ELIMINATE OR REDUCE HOURS OF CLASSIFIED

POSITIONS

WHAT HAPPENED

The board unanimously approved a resolution to eliminate 19

full-time equivalent classified positions and reduce hours on nine

other positions.

WHAT IT MEANS

Cuts are part of the nearly $3 million in reductions to balance

the 2003-04 operating budget.
