‘Lizzie’ throws fans into a tizzy
MEDIA CITY CENTER -- A record-signing event Tuesday drew between
2,000 to 3,000 people to the Virgin Megastore, where teenage
actress/singer Hilary Duff signed copies of her new CD, officials
said.
About 500 people were allowed inside the store to purchase a copy
of “Metamorphosis” and have it signed by Duff, star of the Disney
Channel series “Lizzie McGuire.”
“Fortunately, the crowd was very orderly,” Burbank Police Lt. Rick
Madrid said. “We tried to make it as safe as possible for pedestrians
and motorists.”
The event, which began attracting fans before 7 a.m., lasted until
about noon, and resulted in traffic congestion near the intersection
of San Fernando Road and Burbank Boulevard.
