Bravo nominations due by Oct. 14

BURBANK -- Nominations are being accepted for the Music Center’s

22nd annual Bravo Award honoring teachers and schools for outstanding

arts education. The application deadline is Oct. 14.

The award includes a cash prize of $4,000 for each of the two

winning teachers and $10,000 for the winning school. Awards will be

presented Feb. 23, at a dinner at the Regal Biltmore Hotel in Los

Angeles.

Students can be in the Spotlight

BURBANK -- The Music Center in Los Angeles is now accepting

applications from high school students in performance and visual arts

for the 16th annual Music Center Spotlight Awards.

Nonclassical voice applications must be received by Oct. 1, and

all other performance category applications must be received by Oct.

6. Visual arts applications must be received by Jan. 12.

Finalists from the performance categories will compete at the

Spotlight Awards on April 17, at the Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler

Pavilion. Winners will receive $6,000, and runners-up will get

$3,000.

Winners of the visual arts categories, which include photography

and two-dimensional design, will receive $3,500 and runners-up will

get $2,500.
