Bob and Jean Spencer

Bob and Jean Spencer of Burbank recently celebrated their 60th

wedding anniversary.

Bob is a native of Massachusetts, while Jean hails from North

Dakota.

The couple met while working at Lockheed Aircraft Corp. and were

married by the justice of the peace in Glendale on March 24, 1944.

After retiring from service in the Navy, Bob worked in various

engineering positions for the cities of Los Angeles and Pasadena and

retired from the city of Burbank in 1980.

Both are members of the Retired Public Employees Assn., the

Burbank Historical Society and have been members of the men and

women’s golf clubs at De Bell for more than 40 years.

They have three sons, David of Portland Ore., Steve of Windsor and

Jeff of San Luis Obispo, and six grandchildren.
