Simmons -- Corley

Corie Simmons and Scott Corley were married at the World War I War

Memorial Gazebo in Washington D.C. The groom’s father, Bruce Corley,

a Baptist minister, officiated.

In lieu of wedding attendants, the couple was surrounded by 25 of

their family members during the ceremony. The men wore matching ties,

given by the bride and groom. Each woman carried a bouquet of

flowers.

Following the ceremony, 25 of their friends joined the family for

a reception aboard the Odyssey ship, cruising the Potomac.

While their family was in town, the couple planned a four-day tour

of the city for 25 family members.

The bride is the daughter of Ron and Chris Simmons of Burbank. She

graduated from Burbank High School as a member of the Class of 1994

and returned to Burbank to attended her reunion on Oct. 9. She

received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from Marquette

University. Corie is the grass-roots and political manager for the

United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Assn.

The groom is the son of Bruce and Linda Corley of Fort Worth,

Texas. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from

Baylor University. Scott is employed as the government relations

manager for the Information Technology Industry Council.

A honeymoon was spent in Lake Havasu, Ariz. The couple are living

in Washington D.C.
